Ready to Hang

My inspiration for this painting came when I was at Zoo Atlanta as a guest artist in an art program. I went to the giant panda section to do some sketches and take photo shots for reference. I expected to find them romping around joyfully but to my dismay I discovered that these cute bubbly cuddlies sleep all day until they are hungry so I figured it must be a pandemonium when when they eat. . lol. I also learned that giant pandas all over the world belong to the Chinese government. . and are on loan to zoos all over the world and if they have babies in those countries, those too belong to China and could be recalled at the end of the loan period. This is an acrylic painting on gallery wrap canvas. The painting extends to the sides. Framing is not required. Ready to hang on your wall right out of the box.

Growing up in southeastern Nigeria Kanayo keenly observed the colors and designs on the Dutch-wax fabrics his father,a textile dealer, imported from Holland and this Kanayo says was his introduction to the magic of colors. After obtaining a BFA degree from the University Of Maiduguri in the former ancient Kanem Bornu Empire , he worked as an art instructor at a college of education where he taught human drawing and landscape painting. He left a year later after his national service for MC & A, a Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising agency where he was designer / illustrator and a senior visualizer. Three years later Kanayo packed up and left the country for the United States to paint full time. " I will always give credit to my role model, the man who inspired me the most to pursue art as a career, Mr Roland Ndefo, my High School art teacher at Dennis Memorial Grammar School Onitsha who we fondly called 'Art Master'". Today, this prolific artist says that he is inspired by all the colors and shapes he sees in nature. "This is why I love painting scenery.... I can move trees, clouds, houses and other elements around and they never complain." Kanayo's paintings are collected worldwide by both private and corporate entities including banks, prestigious hotels and resorts. His works have been shown on the very popular CBS TV series, Hawaii 5-0. Represented by galleries nationwide Kanayo Ede is a published artist. This portal offers you original paintings and limited edition hand embellished prints from his studio in North Georgia.
