Ready to Hang
This piece is part of my series on works on lakes and small water bodies in and around the bountiful and blessed California geography where I live and work from. This work was inspired on one of those clear days when the bright sunlight shone on the clear lake water and enhanced the blue tones further. It just invited me to soak in the sun and enjoy the water view and later put that on canvas to enjoy and share.
The painting is done with oil paints on a gallery wrapped canvas and is textured and rich. The sides are painted black for a finished look.
It comes with a coat of satin varnish to protect against dust and UV rays and is also wired and ready to hang.
Biography: I was born in India and currently reside in California since the last 16 years. My background is an MBA and an MA in Economics and I have worked in various corporate positions for many years. However, since the last couple of years, I have switched careers to pursuing my true passion, painting and working as a full time artist. I am largely a self taught artist who enjoys the lack of any rules in art and painting, which makes my work free flowing, uninhibited, bold and colorful. My painting style is a mix of abstract and semi abstract portrayals in oil, of self expressions, nature and spirituality. My artwork resonates with celebration and joy. The amalgamation of various influences of growing up in my native country of India, my various international travels, and my life now in beautiful California, have shaped my sensibilities and my inspiration points as an artist and exposed me to vibrant bounty, beauty and blessings, which inspires me to dream big and bold. The colors and styling of my pieces evoke that sense of gratitude, joy, amazement, and wonderment that I feel every day and that is what I aspire to share with the viewer.
