Ready to Hang
This richly textured abstract pits cool blues against underlying glimpses of scorching magma. The volcanic sculpture is constructed of matte super heavy gel. I pierced the top, opened the peak with a palette knife and pulled back the sides as if peeling an orange. This was a fun piece to create, extending beyond the use of brushes and paint. This piece offers the observer an endless array of interpretive prompts.
Wire attached, ready to hang.
To me, abstract art is the most cunning storyteller of all; it crafts a different tale for each eye that beholds it, without the conventions of spoken, written, or signed languages. Abstract painting is my vehicle for creative release and it tells my stories in colors, strokes, and textures. My art is displayed in homes from New York to Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and across the U.S. I hope my pieces resonate with you and connect you to a thought, feeling, or moment that inspires your soul.
