Small pink abstract painting

My art is my life and a reflection of my inner journey. Painting abstract allows me to express my feelings, thoughts, desires, and past experiences in an empowering way. Being Japanese, I may not always know what to say or how to say it in English. But painting allows me to communicate in a far more powerful way. When I start mixing colors and applying paint to the canvas, I have a feeling of the direction I want to take. As I progress, I realize that it’s nothing like what I envisioned! I come to the place where I must change the direction and make a bold move. Now I have to tap into my spirit to reveal something deep inside me. Many times I will have to “destroy” a piece in order to bring it back to life. And then the mistakes become the rich, deep background that enhance my paintings. And finally I strive to bring it all together to create a peaceful, balanced work. I can only get to this last stage with the knowledge that God works all things together for our good. And then I find rest in my paintings. The final step of letting go is such a rewarding experience, that I consider myself blessed to have found this gift that I can share with others.
