This is an original hand pulled 12 color screen print and limited edition of 10. It’s 30’”x 42” including borders. Each print has its edition number, title and is signed on the front. This series of prints was inspired by the stages of how people deal with personal problems. We all have some memory in our past or personal obstacle that we want to erase. The big girl is the present and the smaller girl represents the obstacle from the past. Whether you like it or not, the past is always with you, but it is in how you relate to it that shapes its effect on the present. When we stop running and face our issues, it gives us strength.
Because each layer is printed by hand, the buyer should be aware that there may be slight differences in each print of the edition that may be different from the print pictured.
I am a printmaker, illustrator and chicken lover. Relief printmaking, especially woodcut and screenprinting, are my primary medium. My previous field was illustration and design before I moved into printmaking. What drew me into printmaking was the anticipation of seeing the final result after all of the process that goes into each print. Every step in the creation of a print can almost be viewed as its own art form. The entire process must be planned out ahead of time, because once each step is completed you cannot change the course of the image. I enjoy this fact because it forces me to fully realize the image before I start the process. But even with all of the planning involved, the outcome is still uncertain until the print is completed, so it always keeps the process fresh and exciting for me.
