This is an original hand made linoleum cut print and is limited edition of 30. Each print has its edition number, title and is signed on the front. This piece was inspired by the time I was backstage at a famous theme park and saw some of the people who play the characters throughout the park with their character’s head in their hands having a cigarette break. It was a very dramatic visualization of the fact that we all have a different face that we put on in public that we are glad to be rid of once we get home.
I am a printmaker, illustrator and chicken lover. Relief printmaking, especially woodcut and screenprinting, are my primary medium. My previous field was illustration and design before I moved into printmaking. What drew me into printmaking was the anticipation of seeing the final result after all of the process that goes into each print. Every step in the creation of a print can almost be viewed as its own art form. The entire process must be planned out ahead of time, because once each step is completed you cannot change the course of the image. I enjoy this fact because it forces me to fully realize the image before I start the process. But even with all of the planning involved, the outcome is still uncertain until the print is completed, so it always keeps the process fresh and exciting for me.
