The Convicted is a series of portraits based off of mugshots collected from various sources on the web. Each painting blends elements of realism with techniques influenced by vintage commercial art such as military propaganda posters or children's storybooks, to create a unique contemporary pop art aesthetic.
Published author and neurologist Oliver Sacks once said of the color indigo, "It was the color of the heavens." Beneath its deceptively plain white cap, the Indigo Milkcap displays a rich indigo blue color, described as some as 'bleeding blue.' She who falls under the sign of the Libra is said to possess extrasensory spiritual awareness. Equipped with little beyond years of botanical knowledge and a fondness for metaphysical excursion aided by hallucinogenics, the lady makes for an unusual inmate among her peers.
