Longer title: A Wary Aristocratic Woman Being Convinced By Malabranche and a Ravenous Female Monster
This painting is a formal portrait of an aristocratic woman in formal clothing, but two malabranche are intruding under the instruction of a Ravenous Female Monster. They are trying to convince the woman of something which she is wary of. The Ravenous Female Monster is the conniving, scheming party... the malabranche she must hold some sway over. And she is using them to attempt to extend her control over the woman. The malabranche themselves are not evil. They don't have the strong moral compass of, say, the Bird People, but they don't have the capacity for evil of humans or the Descendants of Lizards, either. They were deprived of the capacity for good and evil through their innocence, which is necessary for them to fulfill their fate as guardians of Hell.
