"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated." - Confucius

This painting is one of my "Simple Balance" series where I began painting uncomplicated shapes in a limited palette. I chose to paint vessels and occasionally added some simple flowers. This popular series of paintings are all small works on paper, and are matted in a white mat for the buyer to ultimately put in a standard US-sized 14" x 11" frame.

I used high-quality acrylic paints, gesso, inks, and charcoal to give the textured appearance on thick 140# watercolor paper. The paintings are each finished with 2 coats of UV protective varnish.

These paintings are perfect for a kitchen or dining room; bedroom or office setting. They make wonderful housewarming gifts too!

My art has been described as “abstract narrative” and is visual poetry, influenced by nature and life experiences. I mainly use acrylic paints, gesso, graphite and gel mediums to add textures with organic forms onto the canvas or wood surface. Each layer is a like a new chapter in life, building thoughts and memories into a unique and personal story. I began making art at a very early age and always assumed I'd be an artist when I grew up. I majored in art and business but landed in the real estate field instead. There I worked with architects, designers and contractors and was able to create lobby art for many of my projects. Today I am a full-time artist who occasionally consults with my real estate clients which helps pay the bills, and I love to create abstracts, seascapes, simple still life paintings, and occasionally cityscapes and house paintings as a tribute to my long stint in the real estate industry.
