A strong, thoughtful drawing is the base and starting point of all my artistic endeavors; I am an intuitive colorist and prefer a more dynamic palette.
I’m always thinking about my next drawing/painting. While I start with an idea, the creative process itself always formulates the outcome. I tend to work on one series at a time but not always. My style is recognizable and unique. A connection between themes is an affinity towards texture and pattern.
I received both my BFA and MFA from NSCAD University, Halifax NS and prior to that my diploma in Graphic Design from the Kooteney School of Art in Nelson, BC. I’m a faculty member, teaching Studio Art at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS. I have an extensive background in visual arts including a long stunt as an Arts Advisor in the far north of Canada. I love the creative process on all levels and sharing this with others.
