Curator's Note: This is an instance when we find paintings to perhaps be more beautiful than photographing a scene. Not only is the mountain range reflection and rocky water meticulously detailed, but the stars of the show (the two moose) bring a playfulness to this grand landscape.
This painting was inspired by a trip to Teton National Park on a beautiful Spring Day. I sat at the bank of the river doing quick sketches for the final painting. That particular trip I saw 3 different sets of moose and envisioned them in front of me as I sketched. A great memory I would love to share with the buyer.
This painting is beautifully framed with a double brown/cream mat and a gold and wood frame. Ready to hang.
Having graduated with a Fine Arts Degree my career path in advertising and marketing took me to a point where I owned and managed two successful Agencies. However I left the business world in my 40's to attend to my family as sadly my wife, my daughter and father, were each suffering with terminal illnesses. After years of care these three beloved family members peacefully left this life. With such a huge void in my life it was my passion for art which saved me as I started to paint once more. I felt as though my hand was being guided - I was painting as though I had never stopped painting through all those years. Specializing in portrait commissions, I love to work in water color as it allow me the deep contrasts of light and shade which is the signature of my artistic style. I now work between Colorado, USA and Ireland, Europe.
