In my later college years I did a series of paintings around the childhood playgrounds I grew up on. This piece was about the monkey bars, I'm pretty sure every school playground has one. I always put together the Barrel of Monkeys games with the monkey bars; each made me think of the other. We used to play late in the afternoon when school was already out, typically in school we did organized sports and had no time for monkeying around!
