I grew up going to the beach and enjoying the sea life that I could find. I did this painting as a departure from my normal style to combine my Scientific Illustration background and my love for long flowing lines in nature. Blue and Orange is also one of my favorite color combinations.

My name is John Gibbs. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I am a multi-talented artist currently working in Greensboro, NC. My paintings have been exhibited at a number of galleries in the triad area. I began my artistic career working at an art foundry in Michigan before moving to Chicago to work in the design field. While living in Chicago he began exhibiting paintings at galleries and festivals. I cofounded Super Duper Art Co., a gallery in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood before moving to Lancaster, PA. There, I was Artist in Residence at Keystone Art & Culture Center, a non-prot gallery and educational bronze foundry. At Keystone, I worked to establish the facilities, while exhibiting paintings and completing commissioned sculptures. My work was recognized by New American Paintings Magazine as a featured artist in issue #69, which represented artists of the Mid-Atlantic Region. I currently live and works in Greensboro, NC. My sculptures can be seen at sculptorjohngibbs.com
