This is a continuation of my "Contemplation" series - which explores my fascination with people who are "working something out." We're all flawed people - and ultimately we are all searching for our own place of peace. This will make a fantastic centerpiece for your living or work space. It has 1.5 inch sides painted gray - it'll blend well in almost any room. It was created with a palette knife - so texture is evident. The scraping of the knife and the blending of color give it its character. These paintings "pop" - they are not shy - explore your mind with a JB painting!
Welcome to my wacky and colorful world. I'm a self-taught Long Beach, California-based artist who's been a fan of art most of my life. I've developed much of my style by combining elements I've admired in paintings while visiting galleries across the country. You can say I was a "wandering minstrel" throughout the galleries of the U.S.. Color, texture, and psychological dimension are probably the three main components of my work. I'm most satisfied when someone connects emotionally to one of my paintings. I love that because it's really about suspending time and space while observing - that momentary escape we feel when relating to something on an intimate level that only we, as individuals, understand. While I do have intentions for some pieces, much of my work is open-ended so that the observer uses their own psychology to fill in the blanks. What's most fascinating to me is what people tell me they see in my paintings - stuff I never thought of! I'm a happily independent artist, won some awards, been in several art publications and galleries. However, the only thing I care about is you - and your art experience. Finally, music is another passion - I write songs and play guitar in "The 11th Floor Band."
