It began with acrylic and silicone on my porch on a lovely August afternoon when the day ended the porch and I looked like Jackson Pollock. From there it moved on to oil paint. Some of the paints used are iridescent which makes it very hard to photograph in a way that does this piece justice. Work can be displayed side by side or vertically. Pure Season is, therefore, a mixed media work done on 2 panels that measure 24x24 each. Shown vertically, unframed with finished edges. Preserved with high gloss varnish, ready to hang!
At the age of 50 I thought I had a firm grasp on all I liked and didn’t like, of what I excelled at and what I didn’t. Yet, I had no idea I could paint. What’s more, I had no idea how much I would love painting . Art changed everything, including trajectory of my career choices. I never imaged that, in my 50's, I would wake up excited in anticipation of the time I would spend at my easel.
