Titled Fractured Peonies.
I started this painting about 2 years ago but it was unsuccessful. I dropped the canvas in a box of paintings that didn't work and forgot about it. Yesterday when I was closet cleaning I poked though this massive stack of canvases of unloved and unfinished paintings. Since I"m a more experienced painter now I began reworking the canvases. The original was very defined and detailed, I repainted it as a fractured expressionist painting and I love the way the light and the pink color bounces all over the canvas. This painting is being sold framed as shown in the example. Sealed with high gloss varnish, and arrives with a certificate of authenticity.
At the age of 50 I thought I had a firm grasp on all I liked and didn’t like, of what I excelled at and what I didn’t. Yet, I had no idea I could paint. What’s more, I had no idea how much I would love painting . Art changed everything, including trajectory of my career choices. I never imaged that, in my 50's, I would wake up excited in anticipation of the time I would spend at my easel.
