An anonymous humanoid-worker scoops up an iridescent seal from a rectangular cut in the pier. A study in segmentation, both visually and in regard to the narrative.
An aspiring architect and student at the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts (a college within Washington University in St. Louis), Joseph has always passionately pursued his creative interests. Growing up in Chicago and traveling to foreign cities inspired his fascination with the built environment. In his artwork, developing vivid, perspectival environments allows him to ground his unlikely fantasies in a tangible world. He believes in the aesthetic importance of negative space and fancies a lush color palette. His media of choice include colored pencil, pastels, oil, and watercolor.
