Shifting colors in the morning sky, creating distance, energy, and luminosity. There is a transparent burnt umber layer of paint that pokes through the top layers in the sky. This sketchy quality begins to become abstract, then the telephone wires, poles and tractor tracks create the illusion of depth.
I painted this last September. This spot is along a very popular loop trail in Bellvale, NY. I have painted in this spot many times, but this was first time I faced in this direction. There are 360 degrees views in this spot.
