This piece won BEST of show in the Orange County Federation Show in 2013. This is a friend of mine who is a professional musician who posed for me and some other friends. We all enjoyed his music during our session. What is special about this piece is not only the way light cuts across the figure, but it is painted on a wood panel, and the grain of the wood has been left exposed.. l Light, color and a love of the beauty in nature are the driving forces behind my work. I am interested in brushwork, creating illusion and how we perceive color. When painting from life I experience the joy of being present. I choose to work in oil because of the luscious, qualities of this medium.
