Ready to Hang
This farm is in Bellvale NY, located in the Hudson Valley. I walk by this spot often, I'm told the architecture of this majestic barn is Dutch. I love the way the light reflects off the roof and against the deep purple/blue shadows. The foliage has a touch of autumn in this painting and I play with warm and cool colors that shift. I also love the way the barn is nestled in the landscape with the distant periwinkle mountain.
Painted on a gallery wrap canvas, so it could hang on a wall without a frame.
Light, color and a love of the beauty in nature are the driving forces behind my work. When painting from life I experience the joy of being present. I choose to work in oil because of the luscious, qualities of this medium.
