I created this piece to pay homage to Hugh Jackman and his character Wolverine. I wanted to illustrate the aggression Jackman portrays well.
I was born and raised in Astoria, New York. My passion for art began as soon as I was old enough to hold a pencil. My father, an artist and architect student, and my grandfather who was also an artist are the roots from which my talents grew. Some of my fondest earlier memories are my father drawing me pictures. Growing up, I read a lot of comics and watched cartoons and I enjoyed drawing my favorite characters. I realized I wanted to be an artist when my art was first showcased at my high school. I sketched most of my life and started painting in college. My work is influenced by pop culture and comic books. Artists who I admire and have influenced my work are DC's Jim Lee and Obey's Shepard Fairey. The subjects I usually paint are comic book characters and celebrities. I love what I do-its given me peace of mind and fulfillment. Seeing a great piece of art is inspiring and puts me in the moment. I paint to share that feeling with as many people as I can with my art.
