This lightbulb has become my second child. I removed it from a lamp in my living room, set it on a black table about to discard it, and noticed my entire kitchen reflected in the glass; right side up, upside down, stretched, skewed and fantastically colorful. I fell in love and it has been a beautiful relationship so far.
This is my second, much larger version of this wonderful object. I first drew it using prismacolors 16x20 (also available on Vango) I LOVED drawing it and it came out beautifully, but I wasn't finished with it.
This piece is a very large oil on canvas with a nice coat of gloss varnish and currently sits facing Pennington Street in downtown Tucson, Arizona, but it could be in your living room, your office, your restaurant... However part of me hopes it never gets there because I love it so much.
Artist / High School Teacher in Tucson, Arizona. Objects that take on the colors of their surroundings are my favorite subjects: cars, chrome, glass, water and metals are some of my favorite materials to reproduce, but I also draw people, pets etc. on commission, Details, precision, and hyper-realism are my specialty. I work mostly in colored pencil, but I also love working in oil paint, graphite, pen, charcoal, white charcoal, soft and oil pastels. If you work really hard at it you might convince me to do watercolor and pen...(but you have to ask very nicely for watercolor)
