This is an exploration of repetition of form used in a dynamic organic manner with just a bit of color to add significance. Literally it appears as a series of fluid-like petals that are being funneled through a constriction and are released below. I am somehow compelled recently by this abstract petal or tapered tube form repeated many times and connected to each other to explore new forms created by a gathering of similar shapes.
Hi - brief background....I am a 15 year resident of Jackson Hole, Wyoming although I'm from Nashville TN originally and also lived in Knoxville and Krakow, Poland for a bit. Although my primary career has been as a licensed architect here in Jackson, I have continued to produce and sell art for the past 16 years. My method of producing art has been on expressing what is within and what I feel needs to be from the canvas, rather than imitating what I see. It's an exploration with few if any preconceived notions and develops in a very non-linear way. People often ask me ..."what IS it?"...and often followed by, "it looks LIKE..." as if it needs to be some recognizable form or look LIKE anything. Why does a painting need to look LIKE anything at all? Do people ask musicians what their music sounds LIKE, as if it needs to have some recognizable characteristic, as if music must sound like the ocean, or the wilderness, etc.?
