The reason I chose the title for this piece was because "The World" was too plain. I'd done "Abstract World" before, which was a different combination of colors. Since blue was my foundation for this one, I went with "Blue World."
I created this piece during a time when big, life altering decisions were upon me. My ultimate decision may cause the average person sorrow, but I chose to see the positive in the outcome. While blue often symbolizes sorrow, I livened it up with bright gold, white and orange. Africa, being the continent with an abundance of all natural riches, is painted in all gold.
Anyone who loves travel as much as I, can really resonate with this piece.
I grew up focused on good grades and getting a good job. A biology degree later, and near lifetime commitment to forensic science, I decided to pursue my gift. Becoming a mother helped with motivation too. I couldn't allow my daughter to enter adulthood without cultivating her natural talents so I figured I have to be the first example. I turned a hobby into a business and here I am. Thanks to a village of support, because no woman is an island, I get to share what inspires me and what I love to do with you today. I hope you enjoy!
