Ready to Hang
This dramatic painting depicts a vast landscape that appears to moving and melting. It symbolizes the ever-changing environment around us. The rocks were created using pieces from road maps, and include locations from New Orleans to Chicago. I used additive and subtractive painting methods, subtle variations of color and texture and a rich color palette.
No need to frame! The painting continues around to the edges of the thick, gallery-style canvas. The painting is perfect for hang as is.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Jamie Lynn continues to live and work in the area. She earned her B.A. in Fine Arts and Education from Meredith College, and later completed her graduate studies at East Carolina University earning her M.A.Ed in Art Education. She has taught art for 15-years and currently teaches high school in Wake Forest, NC. Her work evolves with time, however there are certain constants: color, organic forms and unity always dominate in her work. She prefers acrylic paint due to the versatile nature of the media and the ability to accomplish a range of effects with different techniques. She enjoys traveling and draws a lot of inspiration from places she visits and artists she encounters. When she's not painting or teaching, she is spending time with her husband and one-year old son.
