This painting is the second piece in the series inspired by the influential Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky. The simple composition is exasperated by the bold brush strokes, adding texture and movement to the otherwise calm design. Bold colors are layered and repeated through transparent washes and opaque paint application, which add depth and further the creation balance and harmony.

Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Jamie Lynn continues to live and work in the area. She earned her B.A. in Fine Arts and Education from Meredith College, and later completed her graduate studies at East Carolina University earning her M.A.Ed in Art Education. She has taught art for 15-years and currently teaches high school in Wake Forest, NC. Her work evolves with time, however there are certain constants: color, organic forms and unity always dominate in her work. She prefers acrylic paint due to the versatile nature of the media and the ability to accomplish a range of effects with different techniques. She enjoys traveling and draws a lot of inspiration from places she visits and artists she encounters. When she's not painting or teaching, she is spending time with her husband and one-year old son.
