The reason I chose the title for this piece is because I was trying to capture the beauty of sunflowers in a slightly abstracted form yet have them remain a somewhat natural form. Their bright brilliance shines through on the happy and calm turquoise blue.
I created this piece in 2014 in my kitchen studio with two little energetic boys running underfoot.
My inspiration in creating this piece was this general idea in my head that sunflowers just have this ability to make me feel happy. Every time I look at my sunflower paintings I'm just absorbed by the intensity of their "Sunflower Magnificent" being.
Jaime is a full-time, professional artist who lives in Nebraska--between two large cities-- on an acreage with her husband, two young boys, and their fish, QuinnAgain. She studied fine art and design, and earned a bachelor of science degree in Design and a minor in Business. Jaime is very inspired by sunflowers and flowers in general. She specializes in slightly abstract sunflowers. Frequently, her work is created by a combination of on site visualizations, sometimes it is from a photo she has taken in her travels around the United States, and most often, it is straight from her memories and imagination. Her studio is in the daylight basement of her family's home, where she can gaze out at the natural grasses and various flowers on their acreage.
