The reason I chose the title for this piece is because this painting portrays the essence of summer on a hot day when everything has a shimmer of moisture to keep cool.
I created this piece in 2014 in the time before my oldest son, who was 4 1/2 years old at the time, was about to have open-heart surgery. He came through like a champ and has been going strong ever since.
My inspiration in creating this piece was the love that I have for sunflowers and their ever present glow of warmth and feeling of hope throughout the summer. They are a like a tiny, little sunshine rustling through the fields.
Jaime is a full-time, professional artist who lives in Nebraska--between two large cities-- on an acreage with her husband, two young boys, and their fish, QuinnAgain. She studied fine art and design, and earned a bachelor of science degree in Design and a minor in Business. Jaime is very inspired by sunflowers and flowers in general. She specializes in slightly abstract sunflowers. Frequently, her work is created by a combination of on site visualizations, sometimes it is from a photo she has taken in her travels around the United States, and most often, it is straight from her memories and imagination. Her studio is in the daylight basement of her family's home, where she can gaze out at the natural grasses and various flowers on their acreage.
