My contemporary landscape paintings are very much inspired by living in New England and spending time on Cape Cod or in Vermont. This painting was done from my imagination, as I don't have any place that inspired me to create it. I love the color combinations of pink and green though and how the dark colors really define the horizon line. With most of my paintings, I add some of the colors along the edges, this is a way that I balance the painting so the viewer is interested at looking everywhere.
Although Jacquie's formal education was in Business, art has always been a big part of her life and in 2000 she focused on learning to paint. She spent years painting on her own and created smaller plein-air landscapes. This process and self-discipline gave her the best education on light and color. She built upon this knowledge and began creating abstract landscape paintings continuing her focus on color. Her paintings are collected in US, Canada and Europe and she has had prints available in Pottery Barn, Neiman Marcus and TJMaxx. In 2016 she was invited to become a member of Art in Embassies and has a painting included in an exhibit at the residence of the US Ambassador to Monrovia, Liberia.
