The reason I chose the title for this piece: While visiting the Smith-Gilbert Gardens in Kennesaw, GA., I was taking pictures and came upon this beautiful "scarlet" colored tree. It became the focus of this painting

I created this piece when I began to learn En Plein Aire painting.

My inspiration in creating this piece: I was inspired by the vivid color. I enjoy the challenge of blending colors to create the many variations of color seen in nature during all the seasons of the year.

(please share more about the story of this piece)

My name is Irene Bernhardt. I am a Vango artist. My greatest source of inspiration is nature. I love mountains in all their grandeur; beaches renew and revive my spirit, and gardens allow me to study the many variations of color. Painting, for me, is the challenge of translating the beauty of nature into images on canvas. Painting is a way to express feelings. My hope is that when you look at my paintings they evoke positive and happy emotions. I Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
