Most my works start from my personal memory. From child abuse to torture during the military service, after study art and Aesthetics, I found out my personal bad lucks have been closely linked to the Korean society and it also has strong relationship with global politics. it was not just happenings it was inevitable historical facts.
As Walter Benjamin said the tradition of the oppressed teaches us that the “emergency situation” is which we live is the rule., In the world, there are still so many pains that is so cruel that we should close our eyes ears and mouth to live without sense of guilty, and it fuels my motivation to protest against the power.
I borrowed the form of narratives such as fairy tales and show it through oriental traditional images. making stories is one of the best ways to camouflage myself, protecting me from the bigger power and sense of humor in narratives produces positive energy that makes social movement resonate for thousands years.
