My work seeks to explore humanity in everyday life. I consider my paintings as visual documentaries capturing moments in time. These documentaries reveal emotion and interaction of the people and places I see. My hope is that the artwork will relate to the viewer by evoking a memory or feeling and unite us in our shared experience of this world. Done in a contemporary realistic style, my oil paintings are created primarily with a palette knife as well as a brush, ink brayer, and squeegee to get texture and depth. With accurate depictions and vivacious colors, the artwork portrays the moment with added artistic detail, lighting, and emphasis on important aspects of the subject.
