This model was suffering from a hernia at the time of this drawing, making for an interesting and strained standing pose. He had somewhat of a yuppy look to him, and between posing he would dress himself in a women's robe which only covered his top half, and was always interested in checking how he appeared on paper.
Originally from NJ, having lived in both Philadelphia and then NYC, I've been lucky to live with constant stimulants and a changing landscape that always leaves room for new perspective and inspiration. I studied fashion, fine art and art history, so I'm partial to exploring form- the figure, portraits, nudes, etc. I like to experiment. My creative time is split between designing bespoke apparel (heatherroyal.com) and fine art- usually studies or personal exploratory pieces. After several commissions and an expanding portfolio I hope to share and find new homes for my work. While I love developing more traditional pieces, I've warmed to creating other expressive, abstract and multimedia work, letting the designer part of my brain take the reigns.
