We don't have to be a part of the chaos around us. We can make our own world, our own space.

Artists like Clyde Aspevig, Jim Wilcox and Scott Christensen have influenced me a great deal. Sargent, the original painter of light, is a constant inspiration. I prefer painting in oils. The medium has a certain plasticity that allows me to push, pull, blend and even mold the paint to the mental image I'm trying to communicate.
