My art is focused on the human body and how it curves and flows. So when I see a shape or movement I like in real life, I try to capture it as best as I can on paper or canvas.
The colors started as a happy accident. I accidently marked a page with oil pastel or I ran out of paint of a certain color but decided to just keep going with it and maneuvered the colors to flow like a human body would flow and capture light.
Each piece I create is something I'd put on my own walls.
My name is Haley Gray. I am a Vango artist. Thank you for visiting my portfolio. When I was a little girl my mother took me to art museums and galleries, in hopes of me gaining experience and culture outside of small town Texas. The first thing I say when it comes to a painting is "Mommy, why are they naked?" Thinking quickly on her feet, she says to me "it's because the human body is perfect, and the hardest thing for an artist to recreate. You have to be a great artist to be able to paint the human body." As a child I marveled at the thought: "The human body is perfect." As I grew up in my own body and art work, this phrase remains true. The human body is beautiful in all its colors and shapes. I hope that one day my art inspires someone in their art or even their self-esteem, as past great artists have inspired me.
