Wrestlers have always been the source of raw manly attractiveness. The symbol of power and dominance over submission has always attracted us. The winner can put the loser under submission and have his way. He will have to submit and pay the bet.

My name is Gene Diaz-Cano. The creative process starts hours before I get to my studio. A concept is born in my mind, and my imagination will make it grow and twist and refine until I am ready to make it a material reality. Still at that moment It involves decisions of color and motion combined with the emotional responses to musical selections in my studio. It is a dance of form and color and things continue to evolve while I create new concepts and ideas to enrich even further the original conception. Auto didactic grandson of a famous Spanish painter, sculptor and architect Eugenio Cano Pelli, whom I never had the opportunity to know because he died before I was born. I felt the artistic vein palpitating in me since a very early age, and indulged on exploration of many routes and possibilities all thru my life. My art is sometimes realistic figurative work, sometimes dreamy surrealistic, sometimes chaotic, but always a reflection of my emotions at the moment of creation. It allows me to navigate through a state of being that had always felt overwhelming but I have fought thru my entire life, allowing me to achieve a deep profound sense of inner peace.
