When creating a body of work, I am never certain of the moves I make or which direction they will take me. Often, I end up with a painting that started out as one thing but transforms into another. Every scrape, push and pull leads to another discovery in the process.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been fascinated with color, light, and space. At a very young age I preferred drawing and creating art over reading or playing. I was referred to as the 'artist of the family' and would always be drawing something, whether it be from comic books or my immediate surroundings. My father was an artist, I often remember finding sketches hidden all over the house after he passed. This served as a catalyst for me to keep creating throughout my early years and beyond. The thing that keeps me going back to the studio day after day is the addictive and joyous struggle I have with my work. I love art that tends to lead to more questions.
