This oil painting on canvas is from a collection of Expressionist works I painted using lines very loosely to create forms, alluding to the figure. By constructing a grid underneath and criss crossing the lines, I played with various shapes and allowed for the paint underneath to dictate the final form. This piece has a very textured surface, created from many layers of oil paint, overlapped over time. (signed and dated on the back.)
