I love islands & had lived for several years on the islands of the pacific. And while I am currently in New England, my heart yearns to return to a life of zories & tropical breezes. This painting was created during a visit & finding an off the beaten path beach. While the canvas is large, the painted was created quickly with a knife & straight out of the tube paints, since I wanted the mood and the feel to be just how I found it, undisturbed and beautiful. My own personal "CastAway" moment
The basic fact is " I PAINT", everything else doesn't really matter , but it's there if you care to read it. And yes , I did run away to the South Pacific for a few years. I never lost the ability to see the world as a place full of wonder. Decided not to change because 'it was time to grow up'.
