I chose the name Weeping Moonlight because if the sky could cry beauty in the form of paint; this is what it may look like.
I created this piece in April of 2015 – it was a dreary spring day and I felt like working with some bright colors.
My inspiration in creating this piece was really just a scene in my imagination. It seemed like a place on a foreign planet where the sky dripped with colors and the water was calm. If I could kayak in an abstract painting, this is where I would want to go.
This piece is highly textured with acrylic peaks and subtle background veins of paint running in the valleys.
Hi! A little background on my art - I only have one rule, and that is anything goes! Most of my pieces are not premeditated - I usually just feel like working in a certain medium - and then the next hour a different medium - so they all end up blending together. I will admit - I'm an original art hoarder - I buy other artists work, but refuse to sell my own. I spend hours with each piece and become very attached to them - but I need to start letting some of it go. Hopefully one of my pieces speaks to you! I live in upstate New York and my main inspirations are nature and my cats . Thanks for Looking!!
