“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” ― Vincent van Gogh
Art helps me to explore and reflect on the nuances in everyday life. The work may be the result of a feeling, such as awe caused by the shape of a flower that blooms so lively in the spring, or its colors that capture my attention. Sometimes too life with its uncertainties presents obstacles for which I seek to find strength through my art. I find noticing the little things we easily overlook around us can remind me of holding on to my hope and persevere with joy.
I believe art is as much for the artist as it is for the viewer. A song can be meaningful to the listener as importantly it tis to the artist(s) who wrote it, sang it, played it. In my case, I hope that my work similarly finds a connection with the viewer. I am a visual artist who finds lines, color and sometimes texture the medium I’m most at ease with. However, my somewhat restless and curious nature takes me places and sometimes I may produce art in other mediums, such as photography, digital art, or even sculpture. While I am mainly self-taught, I have taken some art courses throughout the years and recently returned to college to seek a degree in Studio Arts. I was born in the Monterey Bay area in California, lived much of my childhood years in Mexico City and my heart holds a special place for both sceneries and communities. My current home is in Visalia, CA with my husband, son, and three lovely dogs.
