I titled this painting "Life", for it was a time when I was doing a lot of self reflection on my own life. The idea behind the painting is that in life, we are given this base or structure. Some of us are meant to be writers, some scientists, and some a little of everything. We then take this structure and build from it. We fill in the blocks and advance in areas of our life. The colored blocks represent the filling in of those areas. Some areas are concentrated and filled fully, some are sporadic, and other areas are not filled in at all. I think my goal in life is to fill in as many of the blocks as possible, even the ones outside the main areas.

My name is Evan Rosenberg. I am actually a chemist by training, but have a passion for the arts. I started painting commissions for people, and then really began breaking out of my shell and experimenting. Recently, a lot of my work has been abstract, but I also enjoy portraits and am beginning to work on landscapes and cityscapes.
