I love to try new things and materials while allowing myself to not be restrained by "normal" process techniques. Pushing boundaries and limitations are a couple passions behind my work. This piece was made through the course of 3 months. During this time I tried different techniques deep under the layers. Sometimes you have to have faith I suppose while venturing through the Blind Frontier of the unknown.
Eric is a San Francisco Bay Area native, having grown up on the San Francisco peninsula in San Bruno. His early education was in Catholic school in South San Francisco, where his fondest memory was writing classmates' names in "bubble lettering". He would ultimately spend hours imitating the graffiti he'd seen near home and throughout San Francisco. Fascinated by this type of expression, it would become a major influence on him as his passion for producing his art would intensify as he was encouraged by teachers and the top local graffiti artists alike, at El Camino High School to pursue his passion. He doodled in his 20's but other influences and distractions took priority. At age thirty-one his life changed completely with the responsibility of being his mother's caretaker as she courageously fought against cancer. Anger, despair, loneliness, frustration, and pain from this experience fueled the resurgent obsessions of his art. He used any spare time he had creating images and pushing limits of his artistic expressions on canvas. His mother's passing has fueled his renewed passion for his art. Eric is a founding member of D.E.T.H. Trap Collective, a social movement of disruptive fine artists. He loves to incorporate divergent elements one wouldn't ordinarily expect to find together. Since childhood, he has marched to the beat of a different drummer. This attitude is expressed in all of his pieces.
