This piece belongs to a series of paintings titled Boundaries. I was inspired by the constant clashing of waves on rocks at shore. I used a high pressure hose to push the paint around on the panel emulating the interaction I witnessed. As a result the paint served as trace for the water's natural flow.
I was born and raised in the humble streets of Caricuao, a district of Caracas, Venezuela. In 1995 I migrated to the United States in search of the coveted American Dream. Growing up, I worked hard to adapt to my new home without losing sight of my roots. The internal struggle of bridging cultural differences without undermining either one’s significance, created the foundation for my work.
