My work explores many mediums and techniques to achieve a visual story that invites the viewer to study its complexities that are encased in an epoxy resin with floats of color. Conceived with the idea that abstract contemporary art should create a dialog with a space and aid in enhancing the architectural and design presented around it. The goal is to create paintings that are visually striking playing with color, textures and reflection to create depth in there composition to pull the viewer in on a journey of discovery as they explore the subtle details that bring the work to life
With a background in interior design and European luxury home furnishings the progression into fine art for Eric seemed like the perfect catalyst to bring together his experiences into something tangible he could share with the world. A need for change in life found Eric making a move across country to San Diego to open the next chapter in his story. As he made his transition he would take a year off which was the perfect opportunity to find new avenues of expressing his creativity. Never deter from taking on a new challenge It was his curiosity for the unknown that lead him down the path to fine art. It was in painting that he found a vehicle to drive his creative vision in ways never before possible. This was the first time Eric was able to create things that he felt were beautiful, interesting and thought provoking. So with not much more that the drive to create and a robust understanding of texture, color and composition his collection was born and continues to evolve.
