My favorite time of day to arrive in New Orleans is at sunset. As you cross the spillway there are so many colors dancing on the trees reflecting into the water. It is impossible to capture it all as you drive 70 mph, but that is part of its beauty.

As a teenager, Elizabeth taught herself how to work with acrylics. From there she took studio classes in college and pursued a degree in Art History, during which time she became enamored with early 20th century and High Modern art. “I love how art reflects its own era perfectly—the culture, technology, society. My favorite being early 20th century and modern art ideas and theories, yet I find it difficult to blend those styles and colors with my personal decorating style. I hope the art world forgive however blasphemous this might sound, but my goal is to utilize the techniques from these eras with colors that are more suited for home décor in hopes of merging high modern and with the current mainstream“ Elizabeth is currently painting abstracts, and a series of paintings based on trees. She is also working on infusing what she calls, "a little bit of New Orleans" in to her more recent paintings. “No, I wasn’t born there, nor have I spent the majority of my life there. It is where we started our family and to me, it’s home.”
