This piece had several incarnations. Some see a man, a monk or a woman. What draws me most to this are the eyes, and the texture and color of the neck piece.
Painting is a multidimensional process for me. You'll find everything here from oil painting to acrylic, realistic to abstract... With my abstract work, when I paint, I am drawn into the experience of playing with composition and design, shadow and light, contrast and compliments, bold and soft color and texture. While there is technique involved, the artistry takes on prime importance. Portals emerge and flow. Images take on a life of their own and it is as if I am dancing in paint with canvas and color. Movement is central and key, as is creating dream-like landscapes that feel magical, healing, and peaceful. Every time I come to a canvas I feel like I am four-years old again. Even with years of experience and classical study, I am struck by how little I know. But therein lies the beauty. Because I come to each canvas fresh, I am always discovering something new. Whether the images are realistic or abstract, they come from a beautiful place within, That, which is within all people, which is called Spirit or Soul. Within each Vision, images rise to be witnessed and seen. To be experienced and felt as they reach in and touch each person who sees them, wherein harmonious mystery is revealed.
