This piece was created spontaneously in my aunt's art studio one afternoon. The paint on the flowers is thick, giving a sense of movement and depth. There is actual netting applied to the canvas, giving added texture. I named the piece based not the nature of the flowers - they almost feel as though they are melting right off the canvas. It is not painted to the edges and would look lovely in any frame.
My name is Liz and I am a mother of five and a children's photographer. I've always loved painting and graphic design, and have studied both over the years in between having children, along with drawing. Oil painting is my preferred method and while abstract pieces come more easily I enjoy a variety of subjects, including life drawing which I also studied along the way. I love nature, beautiful, shiny things, bold color and light. My other hobbies include swimming, biking and running, and I am an Ironman finisher. In addition to my 5 children, I have two Chorkies named Sabie and Pepper. I live in Central Illinois but plan to head for a warmer climate near the ocean once the kids are grown.
