I saw some amazing artwork by a gal at our local art festival that was all furniture and fell in love with the idea. That was the inspiration for this piece, along with another called Classy Couch. I found a photograph of a chair I liked and set it on a warm background. I wanted the chair to look rich and silky as it did in the photo. Both this and the other work were created at the Womanspace art studio in Rockford, IL, during a relaxing retreat-like weekend where I got away from it all. This piece is not currently framed but is a thin canvas and framing should be a cinch.
My name is Liz and I am a mother of five and a children's photographer. I've always loved painting and graphic design, and have studied both over the years in between having children, along with drawing. Oil painting is my preferred method and while abstract pieces come more easily I enjoy a variety of subjects, including life drawing which I also studied along the way. I love nature, beautiful, shiny things, bold color and light. My other hobbies include swimming, biking and running, and I am an Ironman finisher. In addition to my 5 children, I have two Chorkies named Sabie and Pepper. I live in Central Illinois but plan to head for a warmer climate near the ocean once the kids are grown.
