The afterhours of New York between the sunset and the sunrise.
The music that keeps you moving like a pill of ecstasy, erases heartaches and leaves you in a speechless trance.
Elena Ivanova is a New York-based painter. Growing up in a family of musicians in Moscow, Russia, she was always surrounded by art. Elena trained professionally for tennis most of her childhood and received a full athletic scholarship at Michigan State University in 2008. After taking an art history course in 2010, taught by Joseph Masheck, a renowned art historian and modern art critic, Elena started her journey as a painter. Moved by the energy and artistic community of Manhattan, Elena sketched her interpretations of the events and experiences she encountered as she became more and more emerged into the life of the city. She found inspiration in the underground music scene and some of the large art festivals including Burning Man have influenced her recent work. She expresses herself in abstract designs through composition and unique combinations of colors and shapes.
